How we score artists

Momentum measures how fast an artist or song is growing right now — across streaming, discovery, social and audience growth.

Every artist and song on GOOD CALL gets a Momentum Score from 0–100. It answers one question:

How much momentum does this have right now?

Momentum isn't popularity. It tracks movement — real audience growth, discovery and engagement across the platforms where music spreads.

What we watch

  • Streaming

Listener and streaming growth across Spotify and YouTube.

  • Discovery

Signals like Shazam that show people are actively discovering the music.

  • Social

Growth and engagement across TikTok, Instagram and X.

  • Audience Growth

Followers and subscribers across Spotify, YouTube and Deezer.

Data is provided by Songstats, which aggregates data from major music and social platforms.

Artists + Songs

Artist Momentum looks at the bigger picture — how an artist's audience, streaming and social presence are moving.

Song Momentum focuses on how an individual release is gaining traction after it drops.

How we think about Momentum

Early over loud. We reward growth, not just size. A 5,000-listener artist growing quickly can have more Momentum than an established artist whose audience is holding steady.

No pay-to-rank. Artists and labels can't buy a higher Momentum Score.

More than one signal. Momentum looks across multiple signals rather than letting one number tell the whole story.

No guessing. If we don't have enough reliable data yet, we keep tracking rather than pretending we know.
